Portstewart Town Blues 0 Portrush OB 5

22 May 2019 by Brendan Patterson
The scoreline looks like a mauling but it was a lot closer than the final score suggests. From kick-off we looked solid at the back and were unlucky with a few of our chances and some dubious offside decisions. A couple of unfortunate errors and a few missed chances left us with too much to do. But still a promising performance. Debuts from 4 players and a new system is never easy to adjust to, especially against the league leaders. But remember this is all about building a squad over the summer to compete in the summer league. The positive side is that we clearly have a good number of quality players and we’ll all improve as we get more games together. Don’t let the heads drop. We’ve played the best team home and away now so we can kick on and get a few more points on the board over the next few weeks. MOTM Prawn – A tough assignment to keep the league top scorer quiet but stuck to the job admirably and also helped to link defence into attack excellently. Well played.
